Random Data

Generates random data, curves or steps.


Random data out.

midi out

Random Midi notes generated at the same time as data Out. The Midi note pitch is proportional to the data out value. Midi note = 127 x dataout.


Time interval (in ms) between two generated data’s. Only in sync mode = interval.


In ms, generation curve width (sharpness). For large values it creates random numbers very close to each other. For small values, it creates random numbers very distant from each other.


  • Continuous: the random flow evolves in a continuous way.
  • Steps: Flow evolves step by step according to the interval parameter.


Generates a new random number. Only in Sync mode = Button.

no repeat

Avoids repeated Midi notes. Only affects the Midi out.


Sends 1 each time a new random number is generated.

repeat size

Repeat the last N random values. With this option you can create loops of random values. if repeat size = 0 then a new value is generated each time (no repetition or loop). Values are stored in the set array.

set array

Array witch contains the set of values used to generate random data’s. The values must be in the range [0..1]. If its size is 0 a uniform random generator is used.

The inlet can be connected from an external random generator.

Synchronization options:

  • Button: data are sent when the button generate is pressed.
  • Interval: data are sent each interval time.
  • Cycle: data are sent each beginning cycle.
  • Bar: data are sent each beginning bar.
  • Quarter note: data are sent each quarter note.
  • Eighth note: data are sent each eighth note.
  • Sixteenth note: data are sent each sixteenth note.
